Hondata Thermoshield Inlet Manifold Gasket B18 GSR/SiR/1.8 VTI 92-00

Hondata have developed yet another innovation in power gains in the form of their Heatshield Gaskets. Hondata's thermo insulating inlet manifold gaskets are made from a hybrid nylon based material which acts as a good heat insulator between the cylinder head and the inlet manifold and also means that it is completely re-useable and can be worth a 5% gain/retention in power!!!

Hondata have done rigorous testing in efficient ways to gain and retain power and found that one of the major areas of loss is within charge air temperature in the inlet manifold. Due to the inlet manifold being made of aluminium, the heat transfer from the cylinder heats up the outer casing of the manifold thus heating the charge air. Hot air has a lower percentage of oxygen than cold air; hotter is creates less efficient combustion and the cars ecu compensates for this lower oxygen percentage by fuelling les thus making less power!!!

Fact: For every 3.3 °C (5° F) rise in intake temperature, air density drops 1%. The hotter the air, the less fuel the computer injects to compensate for reduced oxygen.
