Most stock oe flywheels are heavy cumbersome cast iron items that have been designed for optimum driveability by storing some of the engines power in the form of inertia. Lightened flywheels offer a solution for exploiting and freeing some of this stored/lost power by significantly improving engine response and acceleration.....the only cost in some cases is low end driveability (depending on weight of uprated flywheel).
